My Daughter’s Voice
Sienna, my first born, is 10. She is learning so much about life and recently her best friend moved away; from next door where they coud look at each other from respective bedroom windows to about 20 minutes away. They both had a very hard time with the move, here is Sienna’s voice through a poem she wrote:
Friends Forever
My friend and I used to do everything together
but then a day came that I try not to remember
her house became ugly and small to me
that’s not all
I try to remember that moment so happy and joyful,
but instead it is harsh and painful
friends forever will never come again,
but I still smile every night in bed.

Sienna is a typical McGriff girl…Wise beyond her years.

Boy, that makes me sad. Dashboard loves his own firstborn so, very much. I can imagine how that makes you feel. God bless your firstborn with a WONDERFUL, new (next) chapter!
That poem is precious.

Dash, glad you came by…it is precious, I was deeply touched when she read it to us for the first time. I’m so encouraged to see her to begin to express her feelings this way…it is wonderful!
Dan, man I forgot how much you moved…not so for me…funny how twenty minutes is far for them…but it makes sense when they lived so close. We’ll have to work to keep them close!
