Creating Community and Transforming Culture — VOX

NOV 15…the PICS are up (if anyone has anymore, let me know we can get them here too. Valentino took most of these–nice job!) Go HERE to see them.

We had an incredible night on Saturday. Thanks to our out-of-town guests for stopping by!

Here’s what I experienced at our recent VOX party/benefit: people truly enjoying the “vibe” and atmosphere (KUDOS to all those who worked so hard to create it); many (many!) friends of Melissa coming to see her photography (she was worried at first that all her invitiees weren’t going to show…and then they did!) and her excitment to receive them; all the artists loving being part of a show and desiring to show again; children and adults interacting with the art; a mother thankful that children were welcome and VERY curious about “exactly who are you guys and what are you trying to do…?”; talking to Mercy about her friend Jason (his art was next to hers) him dying from AIDS and deeply desiring to be connected to a spiritual community; meeting Justin (his art was on the “poles”) and him staying until midnight helping to pack up and load out and wanting to do more; talking to the artist Trini about his art/journey how he’s developing his style and sharing about how he is perfecting a new method  to take his art to a new level(and he wants to show again!); people generaously giving to help homeless children; coffee becoming more than only a social drink, but a portal to connecting people who have never met; a student studying and drinking tea; people playing chess; art being created and the room/space changing with each person who attended; incredible music, from talented and passionate musicians; Cindy at the coffee bar sold out of some drinks!!….all because of how we’re following God, connecting to his heart and caring about people.

AND we raised over $1000 (a good beginning) for the Mustard Seed School.

Pictures to come soon…
