Want to join a “real” Fijian Tribe?
Just go to tribewanted.com and join up for only a few hundred dollars you can join and be part of Fijian tribe limited to 5000 members (there’s about 3500 spaces left). Once they get to 5000 “spaces” (a tribe member can buy more than one space — allowing them more time on the island) the membership will be closed….
Closed. Isn’t it interesting that they’ll closed down membership once a limit is reached. Not sure why the limit was chosen…maybe because people like being part of something exclusive, something rare. 5000 out of over 6 billion is pretty exclusive.
I wonder if it will fill up. The idea of having voting privledges, building a sustainable commnity and possibly being voted in as “chief” is pretty appealing. It will be interesting to see what happens as time passes…over the 3 year term of the project.
Tribe spaces opened on Sept 1. And tribe members regularly visit the island to build, develop and plant sustainable resources for the tribe. They’re learning to fish and gather fruits and veggies as they need. And they’re paying to do it! The tribal fee, the travel, the time off…just to participate, to belong.
You can here and see a spread of all the avatars of the tribe members. You can scan the profiles of each and find ouhow they’re connected to others. Some questions: Are more males or females participating? Whose more active and purposeful in their participation? (One women was already voted “chief”… )
Amazing what people will do to belong to somehting special, or even withe possibility of being special…and PAY to do it. There is somehting inside the human soul that cries out to belong to something unique and special.
What do you think will happen? What does this project say about us as humans and our deep desire to belong to something?
